UNRE donates computers to Kerevat Police Station

PNG University of Natural Resources and Environment donated three desktop computers to Kerevat Police Station on Wednesday this week.

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Aisak Pue, when handing over the computers, told incoming Police Station Commander Inspector Mathew Tende and his officers that the donation is a token of appreciation to Kerevat police for the continuous support they give to the University to ensure it is safe and trouble-free at all times.

He thanked the officers on behalf of the University Council, Management, staff and students.

Professor Pue said over the years, Kerevat Police has worked closely with UNRE and he hopes the collaboration will continue under the new Commander.

He said he believes the three computers will greatly help police officers in their operation.

Inspector Tende thanked the University for the assistance and assured Professor Pue that Kerevat Police would give their best to support and work in partnership with UNRE.

He said like any other government entities, the Police force also has challenges.

Inspector Tende said the computers would be a great help to his officers.

“Some things are not provided by the government and as you can see we are really struggling to meet the Government’s goals and objectives. Your kind support will assist us and especially the Criminal Investigative section needs computers to make work easier,” he said.

The computers were donated upon the request of a Kerevat-based police officer.

UNRE ICT Manager Russel Deka said his section will provide ICT support if there are any technical issues with the computers.
