UNRE to assist in Kurakakaul Abattoir rehabilitation

MEMBER for Rabaul Dr Allan Marat has urged officers from the district including stakeholders to be accountable, transparent and honest when dealing with funded projects. The Member made the remark on Thursday (March 18) during the launching of District Agriculture and Livestock Projects under the Public Investment Program (PIP). Rabaul District Administration has been awarded K1.5million, particularly for the agriculture and livestock sector. Dr Allan Marat told District officers and the stakeholders that the launching of any project signifies that the organisation is organised, has complied with government policies and that there is a plan in place for the implementation of the project.  He said it is vital in the  planning stage that there is:  • availability of land, land ownership must be clarified to avoid land dispute.  • sufficient labour, • human capit

UNRE suspends face-face classes for 14-days

  OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR PRESS STATEMENT     Thursday, March 18, 2021   PNG UNRE has suspended formal face-to-face (contact) classes at its Vudal Campus for 14 days following the detection of a second COVID-19 positive case. The affected individual is now in isolation at the East New Britain Provincial Health Authority (ENBPHA) COVID-19 Care Facility.   The suspension of classes is from Thursday, March 18, 2021 to Wednesday, March 31, 2021, however, classes that can be conducted online are continuing. All University staff are at work and have been encouraged to strictly adhere to the University’s COVID-19 protocols.   Movement of students have been restricted and staff and dependents have been asked to limit their movement in and out of the campus. Health workers from the University Clinic are stationed at the main University entrance to screen everyone entering the campus.   The two-week suspension of classes will not affect the 2021 Academic Almanac.
